Exhibition

The exhibition will be held at the Palexpo, Geneva from 14 - 20 April 2007,10:00 to 19:00 daily. There will be up to40 exhibitors from Ghana to promote fine arts and craft, furniture, artefacts, jewellery, clothing, as well as give a sense of the Ghanaian cultural life style.

Exhibition Objectives

  • Showcase Ghana’s cultural, natural and economic environment to the Swiss population and the international community.
  • Raise awareness of the new generation of young talents in the multicultural Swiss-African community.
  • Highlight to the public at large the many natural resources and talents in Ghana.
  • Exposure of Ghanaian products to the international community to generate and promote social-cultural awareness, tourism, and investment relations with Swiss cultural and financial community.
  • Promote future events to support charities and projects both in Ghana and Switzerland.


Proposed Activities for the Exhibition
  • Opening Ceremony by High-ranking Ghanaian and Swiss Officials (yet to be named).
  • Dinner as a forum for exhibitors to interact with Swiss businesses and international community.
  • Visit to the Exhibition by Stephen Appiah, Captain of the Ghana Black Stars and some of his team members to autograph some literature and sports items.
  • Tropical and exotic produce from Ghana, i.e. mangoes, pineapples, coconuts and a variety of culinary/medicinal herbs and spices etc.
  • Kente-weaving designs.
  • Display of traditional clothing and dancing.
  • Ghanaian timber products – furniture/artefacts.
  • Abstract, Canvas and Oil Paintings.
  • Literature from Ghana.
  • Jewellery and beads from the 18th century to modern day.
  • Scenes from the 2006 World Cup – the “David & Goliath's challenge between Ghana & USA.
